AlterStorm is a 3rd person monster-hunter inspired adventure DEMO where the player must venture through an alien jungle to track and hunt down a rare beast.

I went for a traditional linear design when concepting the level. I used classic adventure titles like: Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter for design inspiration. Having only 4 weeks to concept, design, script, and playtest this game demonstration, I used a free 3D adventure game kit from the Unity Asset Store. This saved time on creating art assets, animations, and game functionality.

I split up the level into three different zones. The first zone, where the player starts, acts as a breather. Giving the players a moment to grasp the movement & combat mechanics. Zone 2 introduces players to some of the mobs they would face throughout the rest of the game. While finally zone 3 takes everything the player has learned and turns it into a boss fight.
